PADI Discover Tec - £50
In the same way as for a recreational discover scuba session, the discover tec sets out to give you a taste of the equipment, skills and procedures involved.
Conducted in our heated pool, the experience starts with an overview of the equipment, and then its into the water. Here we will introduce you to some of the basic skills you need underwater when tec diving.
You will then have the rest of the session to practice the skills and experience diving in a twinset. The experience can be credited towards the DSAT Tec 40 program
To participate in the discover tec you must be at least an open water diver, have done at least 10 dives and be 18 or older.
Please note that the discover tec is an experience program only, and does not in itself lead to a certification

PADI Enriched Air Diver - £119
While not strictly a Tec course, the PADI Nitrox course is one of PADI’s most popular specialty diving courses, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
You will learn the theory behind using Nitrox blends up to 40% O2 and the various advantages including extended bottom time, shorter surface intervals and increased safety margins.
Also some of the myths will be exploded, such as the fact that it's difficult to learn.
The course is completed by analyzing two different nitrox mixes which you have will also work out a dive plan for.
There are no longer any dives required for this specialty certification.
The Fun Part
You can typically stay down longer and get back the water sooner. No wonder many divers choose this as their very first specialty.
To enroll in the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, you must
- Be 15 years or older
- Have a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
The Nitrox specialty is also a prerequisite to start down the DSAT technical diving route

PADI Deep Diver - £209
After your first few scuba dives, you soon want to explore a bit deeper. There’s something exciting and mysterious about the depth that attracts dives.
Explore the mysteries of the deeper depths and learn the skills needed to safely and competently dive up to 40 metres depth.
This course will explore contingency considerations, how to plan deeper dives, physical effects and handling emergencies such as missed decompressions stops. The necessary equipment considerations will also be discussed and put into practice during the four open water dives of the course.
You will also perform some simple fun tasks at depth and again at the surface to compare the effects of nitrogen absorption on your reaction times. You will also investigate pressure changes and colour differences.
Some experience of diving in excess of 18m is advisable before embarking on this course.
Again, whilst not strictly a tec course, it is a prerequisite for further DSAT tec training.

PADI MSD (Tec)
You have the passion. You want to join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving. You want to live the dive lifestyle and explore the underwater world and go places and see things you have never experienced.
More than a pipe dream?
Absolutely! Do it by becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver – a rating that puts you in a class of distinction – writing your ticket to endless adventure and opportunities through the experience and scuba training that sets you apart.
To reach this prestigious level, you need to have done at least 50 dives, completed the PADI Rescue Diver Course, the Emergency First Response program, and five PADI Specialty Courses.
If Technical diving is something that you've thought about, but you're not sure if your skills are up to it just yet, why not give our Master Scuba Diver (Tec) program a go.
The program is the same as for the usual MSD, but with a focus on the courses that will suit you more as you move into technical diving.
Technical Diving requires a much wider skill set than recreational scuba might need, so why not make things easier for yourself. Undertaking the MSD Tec program does not automatically mean that you have to progress down the tec route, but what if you could develop the required skills at an earlier stage?
To get the most from the program, we would recommend the courses below and that they are completed in the order shown below:
- Enriched Air Diver (class room based theory, can usually be completed in around three hours)
- Peak Performance Buoyancy (2 dives)
- Reel and SMB usage (2 dives, an essential skill when deco diving)
- Deep Diver (4 dives)
- DSAT Tec 40 (2 pool dives and 4 open water dives plus theory)
Please feel free to speak to us for more information about the specialties in this program.
