Hi all, It's Mark here! I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Tim and Kat for instructing me on my Open Water Diver course. I qualified on April 15th along with Scott and Gary and have since had two great dips back at Horsea. Thanks to Tim and Kat the course was not only lots of fun (which in my opinion goes such a long way in learning) but also full of excellent information and advice. The course was set at just the correct pace and enough time was given to fully understand each task and skill. For a long time I've wanted to see what life is really like beneath the waves and thanks to you guys I now have the knowledge and confidence to do exactly that. Thanks MW Portchester


Anyone looking to do a first class Diving Course has to look no further than the team at The Dive Connection. Myself and son recently completed a course, and we were made welcome the second we walked through the door. Nothing was too much trouble, and the skill and high quality instruction was evident from day one. This was continued when I had a problem with my ear, and I was given one on one training and encouragement to enable me to finish, all at no extra cost. Dear Dive Connection On behalf of the Scouts and Leaders of the 73rd City of Portsmouth Scout Troop, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the Try Dives that we undertook at the Havant Leisure Centre with The Dive Connection on 22 October and 19 November. Some 22 members of the troop participated, most of them experiencing diving for the first time. All of them said how good the activity was and are asking when we will be doing it again. I would like to add that all of the staff involved with the two evenings came across as both professional and capable, ably demonstrating that they could easily relate to young people and make what can potentially be a dangerous pastime safe and fun. It is my intention to run something similar again next year and I will have no hesitation in coming back to The Dive Connection. Just a quick note to thank you sincerely for your patience during the past two weekends enabling me to successfully complete the Open Water Diver course. Your excellent training skills, patience, sense of humour and above all tolerance were invaluable in getting me through, especially yesterday under difficult conditions for us all. This course (Full Face Mask) was one of the best run dive courses I have ever done. All staff were knowledgeable and helpful and I came away having learnt a great deal about the full face mask. The practical skill levels were demanding and it has improved my diving skill. I felt I earned the certificate as opposed to being on an attendance course. Nick is an outstanding instructor. I will be back for several more courses I am interested in and I am very willing to travel the distance between Torbay and Portsmouth because I feel I got excellent tuition and value for money. I had not seen a dive school with such an excellent selection of kit to try during the course - this made it for me. When we phoned and talked to the staff (Nick), they were genuinely interested in training us for a qualification and not just selling another course. Dave and I were very impressed with the two days. The (Full Face Mask) course was fantastic and we both had a great time, even if it looked like I didn't all the time. You have a very professional set up, which made us both realise we were in safe hands the minute we walked in the door. The quality of the instruction on my Open Water Diver course was excellent - I have seen poor instructors, so I'd know! The overall quality of instruction and your instructors are very professional. No-one enjoys classroom activity but it was dealt with in the most positive way. I enjoyed the course. I thought the team were great - even the "crusher" Tim. What can I say? I've just completed my Open Water course with you guys and I was blown away - you are such a nice bunch, so friendly and patient. For someone who was really apprehensive about learning to dive, it gives me great pleasure writing this letter to you, to compliment you and your instructors for all their efforts during my Open Water course. Your instructors, particularly Barry and Allan were exceptionally patient, friendly and above all exacting, in that we had to complete all the skills, and complete them properly before they would sign us off. This has really given me confidence that the course was conducted properly and safely at all times and that we weren't allowed to just "skate through". The other guys on my course were equally impressed with everything that you do from the warmth of your welcome, to the endless tea and coffee to your willingness to answer all our dumb questions. I just had to communicate my thanks to you for such a great Try Dive last night! You were so good with me, helping me through the panicky moments, when I normally would have given up and got out of the water, you calmed me down and reassured me. I came to Nick and Danny at TDC having already passed my Open Water course, but not really feeling confident to just jump in and dive. 11 dives later, I've passed my AOW, have specialities in Dry Suit and Peak Performance Buoyancy... ...more than that I have much more confidence in my diving all thanks to the time and effort of Nick and Danny. How good are these guys? Well....I'm just about to handover more cash for my EFR and Rescue Diver courses, and we've already spoken about how a Divemaster course would work.........that's how good Nick and Danny are.
